FOOTPRINT and FOOTWAYS

The European project FOOTPRINT (2006-2009) was conceived and coordinated by the FOOTWAYS founder, Dr Igor Dubus.

FOOTPRINT developed a series of methodologies and tools to evaluate and reduce the risks of pesticides being transferred to water resources. As part of FOOTPRINT, the tools had to be designed to be operational across the entire EU and this led to the adoption of a number of simplifying assumptions, which limits their usability for specific purposes.

FOOTWAYS has addressed all these limitations by developing next-generation decision-support tools. Our user-friendly tools FOOTWAYS Pro and FOOTWAYS Sp are state-of-the-art and integrate the latest developments in research. They allow professionals from the agricultural and environmental sectors to evaluate the risks of pesticides being transferred to ground- and surface water resources at a resolution which has never been seen before.
